Luke the Lab: Summer - - again!! Lake warms up a little, but other than that, nothing to recommend it when you go through life wearing a thick furry black coat. Chukar Challenge – The old BS’r (Bird Shooter) tells me that I’ve retired and can rest on my laurels and admire my ribbons and trophy. “I coulda been a contender” if I had a better BS’r when these things started. Guess Donovan the Dog will have to carry the family banner this year. Me and Ol’ Donovan been trainin’ up a couple of lab puppies for friend Jim. Hard work for an old dog - trying to teach young dogs new tricks. Donovan took them out to Whispering Pines and introduced them to pheasants, chukars and big guns. I stayed on the sidelines and “advised”. It’s not back seat driving if you don’t have a car, is it?
